      Hague Apostille stamp in Serbia

      · Foreigners

Apostille Convention is an international treaty signed in 1961 by many states worldwide with the aim to simplify the procedure for legalization of official documents issued in one cotracting state for their use in another contracting state.

Instead of performing complicated procedure for legalization of documents usually including multiple state authorities, one can simply acquire a Hague apostille stamp if both countries involved are signatories to the Apostille Convention.

Republicof Serbia is a contracting party to this international treaty, so the documents issued by Serbian authorities can and should be stamped with an Apostille stamp so they can be used in another signatory state.

The procedure for obtaining Apostille stamp is performed before First Basic Court in Belgrade, Serbia, by presenting this authority with the complete, original document intended for certification. After payment of administrative tax, authorized authority shall confirm the authenticity of the document by the means of this stamp, so it can be used in the indicated country.

More information about this process can be found on website of First Basic Court in Belgrade (https://prvi.os.sud.rs/sekcija/98/apostil.php) or by contacting our law office for legal assistance.
